Heat shrink tubing

Heat shrink tubing is used as a protective sheath in applications where materials are exposed to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, moisture, high temperatures, among other things. Standard Heat Shrink Tubing

Standard heat shrink tubing is used as a protective sheath in applications exposed to harsh chemicals, moisture, high temperatures, and other critical environmental factors. Because the shrink tube generates a better seal, this ensures a longer life of the product.

Applications

Standard shrinkage ratios of 2:1 and 4:1 apply to PTFE materials. Larger ratios are technically possible on request. With FEP, these ratios are significantly lower, with an average of 1.3:1 to 1.6:1.

PTFE Heat Shrink tubing

PTFE heat shrink tubing is available in lengths of 1.22 meters or on reels with production lengths. The standard shrink ratios are 4:1 and 2:1, with larger ratios available on request.

FEP heat shrink tubing

Polyfluor's FEP heat shrink tubing is available in the following shrink ratios: 1.3:1, 1.6:1, and 1.25:1. The standard colour of this hose is transparent/natural, though other colours are possible on request.

PTFE/FEP heat shrink tubing

The PTFE/FEP heat shrink tubing consists of a PTFE tubing with a fusible FEP tubing on the inside. During application, the FEP hose is liquefied while the outer PTFE hose presses the liquid FEP onto the object, essentially coating it. 

Kynar heat shrink tubing

Kynar is a material that offers excellent cuttability and wear resistance. Kynar has a continuous working temperature of 175°C and can briefly withstand a temperature of 350°C.

Viton heat shrink tubing

Viton is highly suitable for applications in which temperature and fluid resistance play an important role. Viton can withstand fuels, most hydraulic fluids, and other chemicals at a continuous, operating temperature of 200°C.

Polyolefin heat shrink tubing

Polyolefin heat shrink tubing is a flexible tubing that can be used for a wide variety of applications, including military and professional electronics.

PTFE micro heat shrink tubing

Polyfluor recently supplied micro-thin PTFE heat shrink tubing with a wall thickness up to 0.05 mm and tolerances of +/- 0.13 mm. These hoses are available in almost any size.

PEEK heat shrink tubing

PEEK heat shrink tubing is available in lengths of 1.22 meters. Standard shrink ratios are 1.4:1 and 1.3:1. The standard color of this hose is a brown, transparent/beige while other colours are possible on request.

TL- and UV lamp protection

Shrink tubes are widely used in insect control equipment lamps, food industry lamps, and lamps with UV stop.
