With orders that are different for each customer, it is crucial that they are prepared and recorded with precision and focus. Anne van Galen ensures balance, calmness, regularity, precision in this dynamic environment, and, not unimportantly, she is always cheerful! Time to get to know her better.
Anne grew up in Rotterdam, studied in Limburg, worked in the Randstad, now lives with her family in Breda, and has been working at Polyfluor for over a year. This dynamic progression of her life symbolizes the person 'Anne,' because even in her loving family with four children (including triplets), she never stands still. With a background in medical biology, Anne is someone who investigates and checks down to the smallest detail. She possesses a balanced mix of personal characteristics that certainly help her both privately and in business life.
After working in laboratories for years, Anne was looking for a new challenge nearby. Finding Polyfluor meant a new, interesting job with technical products and challenges for her. “I already knew many tubes, materials, and other products from the lab. They are beautiful products because, with all the different types, sizes, and customer requests, there is a lot involved.”
At Polyfluor, Anne works in order administration. Registering payments, calling customers, consulting with the warehouse, process guidance, checks, information processing, creating packing slips, you name it. As mentioned, Anne likes a dynamic work environment, and she has certainly found that here. And of course, that takes some time when you enter this fast-paced world. “Here, business is conducted commercially, which is different from what I was often used to. In a lab, everything is very secluded; here, you have a lot of personal contact and need to act quickly.” Consequently, Anne has developed enormously in a short time and likes to keep at it. “I can orient myself broadly here and, besides the products, also deal a lot with people. That human aspect combined with the administrative work is very nice. Sometimes you are in 'a tunnel,' and sometimes it is very personal.”
Anne enjoys the variety and challenge of her role at Polyfluor. “The products we deliver are very specific, and that varies per customer. They receive the products exactly as they want them. Therefore, each order is a kind of puzzle that I like to solve. No order is the same.”
Looking to the future, Anne is being trained more broadly and eventually needs to be deployable everywhere, from transport and administration to consultation and processing sales information. “It provides even more varied tasks and makes the work especially fun and interesting. The possibility of being broadly deployable keeps the work dynamic and challenging.” And so, Anne feels completely at home at Polyfluor and plans to stay here for a long time. “The diversity, my colleagues, the work, and the constant new challenges ensure that I go to work with pleasure every day.”
