Johan Eland

Our guardian of quality enjoys visiting clients and has learned everything by doing. This sports fanatic loves working with people and has done so for nearly 25 years. "Answering questions, solving problems and improving things. Preferably right there and then at the client's office.” Time to get to know him a bit better.

Johan Eland is 51 years old, married to his Natascha and father of Thijs (16) and Sven (11). Together they live in Dinteloord, where he was born and raised. "Dinteloord is quite small, but we have quite a few facilities. A swimming pool, a sports hall, a football club and all fairly central." This immediately showcases his greatest hobby: sports. As goalkeeper coach of V.V. Prinsenland and youth team leader of his youngest son, he also monitors quality (and fun) on the soccer field. "I like to keep myself busy: cycling, mountain biking, playing squash. Being involved in sports is joyful."

Twenty-four years ago, Johan came across an advertisement in the newspaper. Then, his irregular job as a transportation planner turned into a permanent commercial position with a small but growing company. "At Polyfluor, I joined a company with clear overview through short lines where you can switch quickly. That suited me well. I didn't know anything about plastics yet, but learned by doing. At first I just supported my colleague, but when he left, I jumped in at the deep end. With more and more responsibilities and tasks, I continued to build my knowledge. I also got to know the processes better and sometimes had to take charge. The more questions I received, the more experience I gained. That's how it grew. For me, the knowledge we gain and share with each other is the strength of Polyfluor. In this way, you can think in terms of solutions together."

As a sales engineer, Johan works with different groups of people, such as partners and customers. It is his job to keep them happy. He serves current customers and acquires new ones. By preparing quotes, making phone calls, visiting or presenting, it involves a great diversity of work. In addition, he is our quality manager. In this role, Johan deals with all certificates, processes and agreements, both internally and externally. This is both his strength and his desire. "I love diversity and working with people. I always try to look at things from different angles and manage accordingly."

Met 24 jaar trouwe dienst is Polyfluor onderdeel geworden van zijn balans. “Ik ga iedere dag met plezier naar werk. Ik mag oplossingsgericht te werk gaan, klanten bezoeken, producten presenteren, noem maar op. Niet altijd op dezelfde plek, maar juiste erop uit. Dat maakt het allemaal leuker.” Daarnaast organiseert Johan als bestuurslid van stichting DunCIdunC activiteiten en werft hij donateurs om geld in te zamelen voor onderzoek naar CIC-kanker en andere vormen van kinderkanker. “Een jongen die voetbalde in mijn jeugdelftal overleed aan de gevolgen van een agressieve vorm van kanker. Het laat zien hoe veel je van iedere dag moet genieten. Wij dragen daar met z’n allen ons steentje aan bij.” Daar kunnen we bij Polyfluor alleen maar groot respect voor hebben.
