PFA heeft als voordeel een hogere continue gebruikstemperatuur aan te kunnen ten opzichte van FEP. Tevens kan PFA op langere continue lengtes geëxtrudeerd worden dan PTFE.
Opmerking: De chemische weerstand van elk polymeer wordt grotendeels bepaald door de chemische structuur van het materiaal en de sterkte van de zwakste schakel in deze structuur.
